It is reported that President Trump has signed an Executive Order that bans transgender women from competing in female sports.
The Order comes into effect immediately and applies to high school, universities and grass root sports.
Also, the order is in line with a separate Order that President Trump signed on his first day in office on 20 January 2025 and which called for the US Federal Government to define officially sex as either being male or female.
Needless to say, the latest Order has not gone down well with LGBT and human rights groups, who have characterised it as being discriminatory.
Furthermore, President Trump has stated that the Order will apply to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, due to take place in Los Angeles, and that he will deny visas for transgender Olympic athletes wishing to participate in them.
President Trump has also stated that, during the Los Angeles Games, “my administration will not stand by and watch men beat and batter female athletes.”
Fighting talk indeed!
