The controversy surrounding Christian Horner, the Principal of the Red Bull Formula 1 Racing Team, and his alleged inappropriate and controlling behaviour, which despite being dismissed by Red Bull, following a review by an unnamed independent and leading King’s Counsel, refuses to go away.
The female employee, who made the complaint and who has been suspended on full pay, is appealing against this decision. Horner has consistently denied the allegations against him.
If her appeal is unsuccessful, she could bring the matter before an employment tribunal.
It appears that Red Bull claims that the employee has been dishonest, but no other details of the case have been disclosed amidst claims of confidentiality by Red Bull.
The sooner details of the controversy see the light of day, the better for all concerned and, not least, for the integrity of Formula 1 itself.
After all, transparency in sport is the name of the game!
